SLEDS adheres to applicable privacy and security state and federal rules and regulations, including FERPA. SLEDS also developed privacy and security policies following the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) version 800-71.

 Each Participating Entity maintains their own systems and processes for collecting and maintaining data. Only authorized staff who have completed training and background checks can access non-anonymized data so that data can be linked and de-identified. anonymize data
